日治時期，殖民政權如何透過保甲制度，滲透到臺灣地方社會基層，因資料缺乏，而少有相關研究。近年來陸續出版的張麗俊日記──《水竹居主人日記》所記載的資料，或可釐清以上問題。本文擬以張麗俊之地方自然領袖、保正、保甲聯合會議長、葫蘆墩興產信用組合(後改名豐原信用組合)理事、慈濟宮修繕會總理、慈濟寄管理人等多重身皆的轉移為經，以慈濟宮修繕問題、慈宮管理人的更換問題及拆毀慈濟宮為道路等研課題為緯，二以慈濟宮為角力場所，來探討日治時期臺灣地方自祭領袖與殖民當局長期周旋的互動關係。
This study aims to investigate how the Japanese colonial regime infiltrated into the local social infrastructure. Due to the lack of relevant materials in this particular topic, there are few any related studies. According to the information recorded in Chang Li-Jun's Diaries, The Diary of Water Bomboo Residence (Shuichuiu chuien riji), which has been recently published in consecutive volumes, we may considerably clarify the question above. This paper will use Ching Li-Jun's varicus positions in local administration as the main axis of analysis, using his multiple identities as a local natural leader in the capacifies of baocheng and bao-jia association legislator(保正、保甲聯合會議長), the president of Hulutun Hsinchan Credit Union(葫蘆墩興產信用組合)(later changed its name to Fengyuan Credit Union)(慈濟宮修繕會總理)、and an administrator of Tzuchi Temple(慈濟宮管理人)as main subject study to explore the research problems regarding the renovation, the administrator replacement, and demolishment of Fengyuan Tzuchi Temple. Using the Fengyuan Tzuchi Temple as the field of negotiation and competition, the paper will investigate in depth the nature of longer-term interactive relationships between Taiwanese local natural leaders and the Japanese colonial authorities during he period of Japanese occupation.
